XBOX Original

well i got my xbox few weeks ago. Yep the first generation of microsoft xbox . I got it in used condition and without anything else. just a bare console, no controllers nothing. I got it very cheap as maybe the guy who sells it found at a garbage bin or so. But it does not work at first. the power went on and stating to flash some colours. red and green colours and nothing output on the television. So i decided to open it up to do some cleaning and repairing . Lucky me the seal is still intact . there is a fair amout of dust inside. cleaned the dust and applied new thermal paste as the original glue died out for the processor heat sink. powered on again and there is nothing output on the television and still green and red light flashing. i googled it and found the solution. maybe i can change the mod chip. first i removed the mod chip. after that i powered it on and YES!! i can see the XBOX logo and loading screen. So i guess the XBOX is fully functional but i couldn't test it because i have no game. So i decided to repair this XBOX. At first i wanted to get someone to fix my XBOX. So i contact some guys that do console repairs. it seems that nowadays people just want fast cash. they have no interest in whatsoever my xbox have and just give me a price. the repair price is more expensive than the price i bought my xbox. It pisses me. So i decided to buy a mod chip to fix myself. so finally i resolder a new mod chip into my xbox. plug in a new hard drive and so i obtained a XBOX first gen that works like a charm. I am very happy with the result. The xbox console really have a slightly better graphics than ps2 with component output.
